Training to be like Jesus TWO PILLARS of the Church that Confuse and Disarm Us: God Allows and chooses if and when He’ll Intervene? |
DescriptionOnce we become born again we have surrendered completely to the Lord. We couldn't become born of God unless we came with our whole heart. When we gave our lives to the Lord He doesn't give them back. We became new creations and in our spirit we always remain surrendered. If we keep coming to the Lord to surrender again and again because we "fell" away, then we are missing something...
We have all understood how Great God is. We know we are to worship and reverence Almighty God. We have been taught to pay homage, respect, allegiance, and bow to the Lord. Worship is seen as our obligation, duty, and way of acknowledging God as creator and master. This type of worship is also seen as God somehow receiving something from us. Here is the truth: God doesn't need anything from us! God doesn't need our worship either. Worship is not for God's benefit but for ours! When we worship God, His authority, love, provision, power, and will are released into our lives.
When we realize that God has adopted us in complete legal terms we'll stop coming to Him as servants, slaves, or illegal aliens. We are born into His kingdom and His family; therefore, we have rights as sons and daughters and we don't have to ask for what has been given. We are not outside the family (as illegal aliens) with no legal standing; we are inside and given the very name of Jesus to use with authority.
Faith is not a hope and future expectation of good things promised to us; it is based upon what God has already given us. Faith does not believe God is going to move on our behalf but it is employing the power of God that has already been given for us to use. The Old covenant people could not operate in faith because nothing had been done everything about salvation was in the future. 2Co 6:2 For He says: "In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you." Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. This is the day that the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it (Ps. 118:24)! This is the time; now is the day of salvation. Now is the time of faith! This is because Jesus has been glorified!
The kingdom of God is not a philosophy, an idea, a hope; but a reality. It is power, strength, and virtue manifesting in miraculous ways. In other words, it is supernatural. We have often experienced God’s presence without experiencing His power; that is wrong and misrepresents the virtue of God’s divine nature. The purest witness to God’s power and grace is liberty, deliverance, forgiveness, healing, and His will being done on earth as it is in heaven (Matt. 6:10).
A slave will not answer, a servant will not declare, and a prisoner will not make a decision to act boldly in Jesus' name. If we think faith in God's grace for healing, deliverance, provision or protection is foolish we are still acting like a slave. The enemy wants us backing down, being intimidated by natural facts, and being unwilling to speak to the mountain in our lives Mark 11:23). We are sons and daughters and they live in obedience of faith! Slaves hold back, stay quiet, and look to others to act when God has gifted us all with His righteousness and His faith (Rom. 5:17). The grace of God has determined to give us the same Spirit to do the same things...but if we keep a slave mentality we won't rise to it; we'll remain naturally bound. We'll be master of all because of Jesus but still living like a child (Gal. 4:1).
God’s
will for us is to be filled with the Holy Spirit and walk in the
anointing of the Spirit upon us.
If we are born again we have the Holy Spirit. We didn’t get a portion or some drop in the bucket; we got the Spirit of Christ and have the right to stand in the Spirit’s fullness (I John 4:17). Furthermore, we have the right to stand as one anointed with the Spirit upon us just as the Spirit was upon Jesus in His earthly walk (Rom. 8:11)! When the Holy Spirit was poured out on all flesh on the Day of Pentecost that is an eternal fact in truth! We have preached a gospel basing our understanding upon the idea that the Word of God alone will convert unbelievers to believers. Therefore, we have reasoned that the Word of God is all that we need or have to help save the lost. We have a problem then that people are dependent upon naturalism and will not receive the Word of God without it being demonstrated! We must reach men's hearts the way that Jesus did! We must penetrate the naturally bound hearts of people the way that the apostles and then the disciples did! How did they do it? They Did It With The Power Of God In Demonstration! We’ve already got all that God has given us in Jesus. We are already blessed with all spiritual blessings in Christ (Eph. 1:3). His grace is multiplied in us in the knowledge of His Son (II Pet. 1:2). It is manifested in our life as we assert it, command God’s will, and speak in Jesus’ name by the power of the Spirit. God is waiting on His sons and daughters to act in the “much more” aspect of His grace on our behalf. We must act or God’s power remains dormant inside of us. God commissioned us to go in His name and do what He’d do (John 14:12). When we act in His name His Spirit is right there to back up the Word that we believe! This Is An Amazing Truth! God didn’t make us to serve Him but to actually be served by Him! Consider these two verses side by side: Mr 10:45 "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." And, Heb 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” I had always considered this statement of Jesus for the time period of His mission on earth as the Lamb of God; however, as this next verse expresses, He doesn’t change! His mission then continues to this day and forever! This is the divine nature being manifested. God is not looking to be served, but to serve! Distractions that take us away from God are mostly everyday activities, opportunities, and responsibilities. Our sin nature is stirring us constantly to fill our spiritual life with worldly things. We have a great need to connect with God in our inner man. The enemy wants us preoccupied with the cares of this world, the lusts for other things, and the deceitfulness of riches. We must overcome our natural tendencies to continue to live naturally by seeking, finding, and being connected within. We must spend time with Jesus or our believing has no transformation power in us. We are not seeking God for power; we are seeking God and that is powerful! God wants us to understand the new creation and the kingdom of God that is it solely based upon His grace. When we are in grace we are in peace and rest. We rest from worry, fear, judgment, condemnation, and failure. We rest in His love poured out into our hearts based not on what we have done or will do; but based upon what Jesus has done. The true gospel is about what God has done in our life by becoming born again. The creation reality is this: I no longer live but Christ lives in me! We are His workmanship (Eph. 2:8); We are the Temple of the Holy Spirit (I Cor. 6:19); We are ambassadors for Christ (II Cor. 5:20); We are ministers of reconciliation (II Cor. 5:18); we are as He (Christ) is in the world (I John 4:17); we are to reign in life through His righteousness (Rom. 5:17); we are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus (Rom. 8:37)…and so much more. We were made to be One in the Lord. We are never alone again. When we speak, act, think, pray, or proclaim in His name He does these things right with us. Amazing as this may sound, "I am freer and more alive with the Spirit of God possessing my life than I ever was without Him. I am more free to be me because where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty (II Cor. 3:17)." So often we have stressed over faith. Do we have enough faith? Even when Jesus says to us, “If you have faith even as a mustard seed...” we still crumble in doubt and unbelief thinking our faith might even be smaller. Faith happens when we see Jesus in His grace towards us. It is not for us to see our faith; it is for us to see Jesus. Faith is for God to see. When we look to see our faith it crumbles; however, if we'll stop looking at faith and look to Jesus--it's like magic faith happens! How do I know I’m qualified to receive all that God has given in His grace? I know because I am accepted and forgiven in the blood of Jesus. I know because I have the Holy Spirit in me. I know because the qualified One is in me and He makes intercession to all possible depths, places, and issues in my life. I simply believe in Him who is in me and that makes me qualified! When we live just as mere men; when we think only naturally; when we fear unforgiveness; when we don't see ourselves the way God sees us in Christ; when we think we are alone and on our own; all of these things and more mean that we are falling from grace! This message is not to condemn or make us feel guilty. It is meant to bring to light how our wrong believing is the only way we can fall from grace! When we realize we are fallen, just repent and step back into the grace that has been poured out for us. Amen We often see or perceive God in human terms. Sin has perverted our understanding of God; therefore, we often imprint an image or perspective based on worldly relationships. This can be good but often it is wrong. God is not like us; we fell from being like him--in sin nature. By examining human relationships and what that looks like towards God we'll find out what type we've been operating in. Some of us have a skewed understanding of who God is and we see Him in some misinformed ways. Let the scriptures renew our mind to see Him as He really is so that we don't limit Him in our life. Salvation has two parts for our faith to be effective. The first part is receiving our born again experience with growing in the knowledge of what that means. The second part is once we are convinced of God's grace in being made righteous in Him then we must take our position. This is the assertive part. James tells us that faith without works is dead. Receiving our salvation without asserting it in this life is also dead as far as faith is concerned. There are many things we must stand against, speak against, and take our authority in Jesus' name to bring God's will about in our lives and those around us. It is God's glory we were made to see and live in. It is God's gift for us to know and experience His great love for us. He didn't create us to suffer, to be defeated, depressed, or sick...that is the curse! His plans have always been for us to see His glory in US! The riches of His presence are seen by faith in His grace. This is a faith fact--God's glory belongs to us. Then why don't we see it? Often it is because we are too earthly minded (carnal dependent); or it is because we are still trying to keep the law to please God which only veils our eyes from seeing His grace. Read and find out more... The Demonic game plan is to get us caught up in accusations coming our way or by making them towards others. This takes us out of grace and back under the law. If we are depressed, down, having thoughts of self pity, feeling defeated, and unworthy of God's love, grace, and blessings it is because we have accepted and embraced accusations against us. This whole area is often unrecognized and goes unfiltered leaving us wide open to self examination and self recrimination. In short, accusations have all been disarmed in Christ! Many present the gospel and answers to prayer from God in terms of "Yes and no" or "Yes and maybe" or Yes or not now but later..." The apostle rebukes that understanding to teach us that all of the promises of God are yes and amen in Jesus. This means God has already provided, answered, given, and done everything He's promised in Jesus. When we pray according to His will the answer is yes! The righteousness of God has been given as a gift to every born again believer. We don't earn it nor can we loose it by sinful behavior...what we must do is live to it, embrace it by faith, and awaken our hearts to establish it as truth forever in our lives...this gift then produces results, power, and peace. We have been taught to love God with all our heart and our neighbor as ourselves...the two greatest commandments. Both of these and the Ten Commandments are from the law! Jesus gave us a new commandment: Love one another AS I HAVE LOVED YOU. This new commandment places the focus not on our efforts to love at all but on our living and abiding in His love. As we receive His love, then we love... It lives in the gift of no condemnation! We stop judging everyone and even ourselves according to the flesh. We only judge according to the Spirit which is not our judgment, but the Lord's. We are taking the bait to come back under the law when we judge; stop, entrust ourselves to the One who judges righteously.
Judge Not; Stop Fretting; Stop living life on our own… The scripture clearly teaches us not to judge (Matt. 7:1); however, for free will beings to decide anything judgments are necessary. In fact Paul wrote:1Co 2:15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. Both sides of this issue are true it is in bringing them into tension or balance with each other that grace and truth are revealed.
If we do not recognize the law's constant attack towards our sin consciousness we'll keep living to it and remain in torment, confusion, and doubt. We battle with condemnation, guilt, shame, fear, and unworthiness; we battle with judging according to the flesh twenty-four seven, all of these are flags that we are back under the law. Cast it away, live to the liberty in Christ, stop the court room and inner battle...
We don't earn holiness or righteousness by any effort of our own. We've been made holy and righteous before Him by what Jesus has done. This changes everything because our born again experience has made us what we could not make ourselves be--beloved and acceptable to Him. The gift of righteousness is not based upon our works before nor after coming to the Lord. It is based on what we believe.
This is an outstanding message to realize that Jesus has saved us to the uttermost (Heb. 7:14). That salvation includes saving us from ourselves, our unbelief, our doubts, by His intercessory role within us to always help us hit the mark of God's perfection. Jesus is our peace, our life, our joy, our believing...nothing in impossible for those who believe in His believing for us.
Recognizing spiritual things versus the flesh is vital to being able to walk in righteousness. It is a decision we make and a commitment we keep to stay grace filled and spiritually minded. This is based upon knowing the truth and staying in it.
Faith needs to be based fully in God's word or it has nothing to stand on; with this in mind then understand that faith is always under authority. Without authority there is no power in faith to move in the Spirit with. Faith and authority are co-mingled, two sides of a coin, one cannot work without the other.
The Messiah came to save sinners and to reveal grace and truth in salvation. He also came to be an example of a human being anointed and under the Spirit's authority. In other words, Jesus came to be the grain of wheat that is planted, dies, and then produces more wheat that produces more grain just like Him! Jesus came to reproduce Himself in every believer!
This revelation is huge! When we became born again we received the fullness of God and the Holy Spirit. We keep asking God to do things He's already done in us in Jesus. This has to stop so that we operate in faith and not unbelief. We have received our needs met, help to live in life, the gifts of the Spirit, all things that pertain to life and godliness (II Pet. 1:1-3).
God wants us to know His will. We are building our Christian life on vagueness and a slippery foundation if we build on anything else. Not knowing God's will is the definition of doubt which the book of James clearly teaches us receives nothing from the Lord. Therefore, it is the enemy and wrong teaching that leaves us with the idea that we are not to know God's will...if we don't know His Will it's not God's fault.
I'd never understood: grace are all of the things God had done in Christ in the atonement and faith is our response to what he'd done. Grace is more than just unmerited favor...grace is seeing in the letters of the apostles all the things accomplished in Him. When we come from the position of accepting God's provisions as done (instead of asking for them as if they were not done yet), we are standing in faith.
Jesus healed and you can also because He said so! The Great Commission of Matt. 28:20 Jesus told the apostles to teach us to observe all they were taught by him. As we study the scriptures we'll see that this is a major theme that not only includes salvation but the commission to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, and cast out demons...
His attitude is supposed to be our attitude. We often tolerate S & D while Jesus considered it a work of the devil. We often think God is using S & D to train, teach, and prove godly character into us while Jesus rebuke it as a part of the curse. Here are some fifteen statements Jesus made or that were made about His healing ministry in describing what He thought about S & D.
Fourteen Scriptural reasons why signs, wonders, miracles, and healing were performed by Jesus. When his disciples healed it was for the very same reasons. The TWO-fold commission is the same to us! These reasons still exist today...
Training means we are learning and will make mistakes have success and failures but as we press on, and do not give in, or give up, we will be like our teacher. Luke 6:40
Both of
these opinions about God’s activity and responsibility in this earth have negative
effects on our faith. If we believe that God is allowing good things to
happen to bad people or bad things to happen to good people as in
standing by watching and doing nothing about it, we are going to
frustrate ourselves and cripple our faith to trust God. The idea
that God
is allowing all that happens in life itself is really an indictment
towards God’s integrity because most of what is happening in the earth is not
God’s will. This
disarms us from resisting evil and standing up to threats with a
whole heart because we’ll never know if what is about to happen or is happening is
from God as in allowing it to happen for some mysterious good. In truth
it makes us passive and that’s where the demonic want us.
We must own it for ourselves; we can't know about God's Word we must know it personally, intimately...ultimately it is a work of the Spirit in us that makes the Word alive to us... We have separated peace from God's power Jesus didn't do this...when we have peace in any matter we can know that the power of God is also present to make it so.
Everyone who practices grace and faith in healing will have setbacks its what we do with them that results in fruitfulness or fruitlessness. We have the greatest faith there is...His faith...the problem is ignorance and not applying it.
This is a foundation teaching...we often accept offenses, feel we have the right to be offended, nothing could be further from the truth...we, in Christ, do not become offended because we died to this world and to the law.
What men need and wives should give...
What women need and husbands should give...
A fundamental interpretive principle for understanding the Holy Spirit is that when we became born again we received Christ and all that the Spirit is...we are to manifest all of the fruit of the Spirit just as we are to manifest all of the gifts...because it is the Spirit in us doing these things through us.
